I am now strongly recommending people to leave this area, in areas such as
Scranton , Pittsburgh, places in Jersey near Philly and all in PHILLY areas.
Please tell everyone. Until anyone can rationally show more and more days of
particle pollution is not harmful ( it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) or
someone can show people breathing moderate amounts day in and out more then
most places in US isn't harmful, I say move. you won't see that link because
the truth is its extremely harmful and the press ignores all bad
effects. What you will see is 25 different meds and hospitals and health
plans and lung centers and heart institutes? This air does harm to people
and we are getting mroe of it then most. Ask for objective studies if you
don't believe me in comparisons? I can show you ten different experiments
that if done would show that this air not only makes your respiratory system
fail but increases the chances of cancer. If this isn't more important to
your health then most anything , then tell me why. Tell your mom not to
retire here. Tell your family to leave fast. We have f rated air that is
often getting you sick. We are up there in asthma , respiratory ill health
death, lower longevity, higher health care costs. more cancers! If you want
even more reasons why to leave this area now, please Please email me at

WHY DON'T **YOU** LEAVE, Steve!

For the love of Christ, GET OUT! AND STOP THIS!

Take whatever resources you have and follow your own advise.
The fact that YOU haven't left, when you want everyone
else to leave, proves what total crackpot and liar
you are.

expect people to stay based on your own subjective reaction. YOU THINKTHE
PEOPLE WHO WILL BE AFFECTED BY CANCER AND RESPERATORY DISEASE WOULD EVER
HAVE A WAY OUT IF THEY LISTENED TO YOU, I TEND TO DOUBT IT.
..DO YOU THINK YOU ARE REALLY ADDING ANYTHING TO THE ARGUMENT BASED ON
FACTS? I GAVE STAT AFTER STAT SHOWING HOW PHILLY GETS MORE PARTICULATE
POLLUTION THEN MOST PLACES IN NORTHERN HEMISPHERE AND THE SUBSEQUENT DAMAGE.
I WOULD BET MY GOD WOULD APPRECIATE ALERTING PEOPLE THRU NO FAULT OF THEIR
OWN ( AND PHILLY PRESS) ARE NOT INFORMED OF THE DANGERS

Some people don't want to be saved and it's not up to

be informed. Isn't that obvious to you?

I don't like and don't understand why young people start

How about saving yourself, by leaving, since you are being unduly
affected?

And how about leaving the rest of us alone?

Don't you get it? Even if we do care about some of the content
of your posts, it's how they are *presented and the frequency* that quickly
cause people to be turned off by what you're saying.

If you talk too much, people simply stop listening. And if you
keep bleeting about the same subject you will bore them,
annoy them or cause them to do the exact opposite from
what you are hoping they will do.

The other offensive thing is that you believe people
are too stupid to take an active interest in pollution and
the condition of our world and I, personally, resent
that. Like we're just sitting on our hands ignoring
the problems. Like you are the only one who cares.

I have to live here cause I have a paid mortgage that is divided between
like six people, if I were to leave, whatever no home. I have to live here
but if I didn't I asure you I would be far far away.
I
don't believe violence is in only certain areas like yu mentioned and I
don't believe anything you said about the quality of health for its citizens
and your subjective rants. I think you have a mental problem when you
encapsule your life into what six to twelve people say on the net. There are
more people going by in one minute on one block then who pony up to your
vision of consensus.
Having said that I don't think lots of Philly own up to the negatives
though, and those people are the ones who complain when I write. Of course
many people in Philly are not exposed to the bad things to worry about to
begin with just the results. The results manifests in comparisons of health,
health costs and victims of violence and fear of such.. You think that
everything is great here its not. 10,000 acts of violent crime every three
years is atrocious. They are holding a hearing in City Hall where young
people can talk about the violence. If everythign was so great here there
would be no reason for this crime. Obviously there is a philly you are not
seeing. The only thing that will ever stop me is a good argument and facts
and diminishing violence and pollution, not my grammer or anything else.

Hello? Its my freedom of expression to warn people just as I would hope
someone would warn me. I don't libel the city and I don't make as many
subjective summarizations of the city based on subjective facts. You do join
the cities news stations in the optimism though. Perhaps you should revisit
your local tv stations you said you dont watch. Lots of gooddy goody news.
Not reality for tens of thousands but heck it might ring your bell.

from dysfunction you need others to ring yourbell. and tell you what to do

that is a point and its not possible and I would still complain bitterly
what I see as too little action against pollution or violence in this city
even if I was not here. I think advice about anything has certain complex
exceptions based on peoples character and makeup , I have heard commentators
often offer advice about athletes without ever taking their own suggestion.
. I ofter the suggestion of people to leave so they don't suffer like many
others have . Anyway why do you really care if I offer that advice since you
think no one listens to me? A really strange thought process you have .

Stop lying. I have never said everything is great here.
I've watched areas of the city decline with my own eyes.

I live here in this city, I'm black and I'm feel *every* death

About lying you keep telling me I don't talk about the good things. I never
assumed my job was to give an even balance summary of Philadelphia., the
things that are good are far outweighed by one issue, the polllution factor.
Even a winter day no less like this has particulate rates higher then 70
percent of the country. Over and over again this spells bad health. Have you
ever done an association or look up between particulate pollution and
health? Really have you? This is objective information now, and we might be

Steve, when I go years without getting sick, and feel well
99.99% of the time, it seems prudent to me to spend time
on a lot of other things. You believe I'm being selfish.
I virtually never take time off from work. I'm on call
virually 24/7 (internet junkies like you want *constant*
access) and then you want me to spend the free time I have
researching a topic that isn't making *me* sick.

I spent 16 years being a family care-giver for

my life only.

Karen, I don't want you to do anything really lol. I suppose if your going
to argue about pollution and its real affects, one might think facts are at
least as important, So if you get a good ten people agreeing I am nut
without disproving the facts about why our poor quality of air isn't
important, Yes I would agree with you, you totally waste time in newsgroups.
I think if your going to talk about who is right, one might side with safety
and facts as opposed to subjective opinion..,so you are the weakest link to
me and those that argue like you. Personally its scary to think you were
even hired to begin with,, thinking how you deduct logic. I think most job
performance is based on facts relevant to performance, so to think you do
otherwise, is a scary proposition who you might affect.

The facts about global warming, increase of carbon dioxide and asthma and
our poor quality of air that seldom approachs good is more important when
arguing about pollution affects. Your family and your care giving doesn't
make the prior facts any less real.. I am not telling anyone from Phily to
leave because of your care giving, I am telling people to at the very least
get comparative date on effects of pollution and at most to leave at once.!

Karen the point is even if you do all that, someone else could be affected
allot of the time with the poor quality air over taking the importance of
doing the other things. One reason why I complain so much. You can't escape
it. I said this before and probably the last time I will say is, it would be
more important to see how 100 people might fair on average doing the same
things in two different environments. One who eats good and breathe sair
that is not good all day and one that eats good and doesn't. My facts say
the effects over time are way way worse for Philadelphia residents. I will
say that any negative ratings on our air is surprising in its objectivity. I
think by being able to conclude cause and effect I actually was dumb enough
to think policy makers would be doing more immediately to change the
results.

Most of all you would be better worrying about all the kids who have asthma
here and all adults who get more then average cancer and finally wake up to
see thats the most important factor people ignore here. I don't know how
people can ignore the most important negative, the air quality and its
subsequent damage. Realize just like Bush influenced global warming debate
by ignoring the issue, so we do it here and in doing so we are setting up
people and family for ill health and pain. If things are connected, getting
this area to better air is the best thing thiscommunity can do for its
citizens but thats not always practical, the polluters and pharmacies depend
on people getting poisoned. The quality of life in this city keeps going
down when it should be going up.

Technically speaking one doesn't "get" cancer one "develops"
cancer because of missbehaving genes. And a lot of those
cancers are as a direct result of what these people did in their
lives which caused their DNA to go haywire. That is, they
smoked, they drank, they ate crap over and over and now
they're sick. It isn't always about something out of their
control and beyond their bodies. It's what they did themselves
and it's their fault. Not, necessarily, some outside
agent like pollution.

Most people just have no understanding or knowledge of basic biology
so they simply have no idea how to get
a headstart on staying well. They will throw around
the term "DNA" without having any idea about its structure
and function.

And they're really too lazy to
work at maintaining their own health. They'd rather
let big pharma solve something with even more
medications. And it is work(to stay healthy) when one is bombarded by
nonsense advertising that has no other goal than
to get foolish, gullible people to buy products that
can kill them like tobacco.

It's all about balance which *you* ignore.

I have to live my life with whatever time I have left on this planet.
I want to enjoy part of that time as is my right as human being.

Going on crusades is not what I'm interested in and not what
I'm good at and not something I can possibly have a big affect on anyway.
The problems are just too big, too complex, cultural and generational.
Many problems are simply not going to be resolved. Ever. Because
the minute one problem might get fixed there's always another
one to replace it.

What I *can* do, to affect some good will in my
corner of the world, is to be as good an example of good citizenship
and to be as good a role to young people as I can be.

Whatever problems they are having is also about personal habits
and bad behavior which sets them up for disease. The point is if the
air is already bad, why make things worse by smoking? In this day and
age why are so many people still smoking? It was their own personal,
idiotic, choice to start(smoking) and one can't blame air quality on
their own brand of plain stupidity.

If you care why they might have it more then other places, one reason can be
because of where they live and air quality, after all its probably not an
acident I have complained about the air for so long and we being number one
in asthma . Their parents could not hope to know why they have it when press
ignores it so to me its called lethal dosing or state sponsered terrorism.
there is a conspiracy to actually protect people here but its not at all
surprising. F rated air is totally ignored , but hospitals and pills and
clinics to treat it are everywhere. If you don't think you have a
responsibility to look after people who thru no fault of their own will be
sick because of where they live , someone else might. . This is why its so
easy to keep posting about it, eventually my God says to me, if I save one
person from the heck I have gone thru I saved someone no one else would have
tried to save. That to me is meaningful and I alway preface that with if I
am wrong I am able to look into any rational argument. For instance, Philly
being number 20 in the US for particulate pollution. Thats not important
especially when we get more and more since that study and we get more days
then most cities in Northern Hemisphere and if people are warned about
moderate amounts or worse and studies show damage why in the heck isn't more
done and said ? This is way more important then Dononvan McNABB. Now you
think me complaining is idle waste of time, I would beg to differ. When I
first started to post four years or five years ago, no one even listened,
few groups cared about particulate pollution, or its effects. Still to
thisday more can be proved on airs damage but is not done. At least people
can see how our own govt and news can not worry about such important things?
Why? I have no clue. except from a business sense, the people who pay
salaries get more when people who are dumbed down die when they follow the
advice of weather people who say beautiful day all year in moderate or worse
air pollution.

Ok and when air is bad that contributes too. I am saying and said this
hundreds of times when everything else is the same the one distingusihing
difference is the AIR Quality
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! correlated to people
being well or sick. Its often the one distinquishing stat! amongst others.

repeating this over and over. Lets assume those things contribute and you
put a plus when someone does something right and you put a minus when they
do wrong, When everything else is zero outted the pollution factor is often
what seperates the good from the bad. This is what I think needs to be
looked into the most! Its soo obvious its beyond comprehension, it borders
on lunacy to ignore it. .

Its not foolish , we live in maze and whatever we have to do to produce jobs
we do, even if people will die enmass. There reallyare not enough jobs for
the world population. I read that in real numbers besides survival for food,
40 percent plus of world population doesn't have meaningful work so in a
sense I am not surprised smart people like control of oil and like to
suppress the real data in order to sustain jobs. The result? smart people
who have money move to nice areas and Philly keeps attracting people who

Many problems are simply not going to be resolved. Ever. Because
the minute one problem might get fixed there's always another
one to replace it.
What I *can* do, to affect some good will in my
corner of the world, is to be as good an example of good citizenship
and to be as good a role to young people as I can be.

I don't know how
people can ignore the most important negative, the air quality and its
subsequent damage.
They ignore it because they feel that they can't do anything about it.
Or they have more immediate concerns like how to put food on their
tables.

Realize just like Bush influenced global warming debate
by ignoring the issue, so we do it here and in doing so we are setting up
people and family for ill health and pain.

If you don't think you have a
responsibility to look after people who thru no fault of their own will be
sick because of where they live , someone else might. .
Yeah... the ones who have the talent to work those issues.
I'm doing what I know I do best and no amount of your
self-righteous yakking is going to make me feel guilty about it.

There are limits to everyone's capabilities and I've spent
enough time living to know what my limitations are.

You don't have a clue about all kinds of sacrifices
I've made in my life just so others could be more confortable.
I give and give and give and give and have rarely
asked for anything in return.

Everyone else here refuses to talk to you now and
I'm *still* talking to you. Doesn't that indicate that
I, at least, think you are worth responding to/reacting
to?

I can't possibly make you feel guilty can I? lol Why even defend not feeling
guilty .

I think the one good thing about this, is you allow me to vent off steam and
at the same time try to warn others who use objective information to better
their lives. When you said you felt sorry for me , in a way your right. The
inability to leave a health damaging envionment is truly a sorry state. But
its not self imposed, its rather state induced.

Look Karen,I really never ever wanted to make this a personal issue , but
since so many people choose to argue my claims with crazy personal attacks ,
I think I can do the same back and still tell others of the most important
concern ( not you Karen or others) to me and thats the quality of air and
how to induce or try to get people to do their own investigative work to
form conclusions about the possible dangers or not possible dangers.I think
at the very least many Philadelphians use the rational misery loves company
in not leaving. They see so many people around them and think we have so
many things in place that would protect them, this mcs guy can't be right. I
would say to them, I don't believe I ever believed anything so much as I do
about our poor air quality and the negative effects on its citizens in soooo
many ways. I think the actual proof is there on the net but many more things
can be done to show the potential damage this air is doing and why its the
air and not anything else.

I said Karen, its good you have responded, because I am able to vent and put
out the most important message I can possibly give to people in this area ,
and that to me there is not enough being done to better our air quality and
coupled with the the number of commercials on tv for healthcare and facts
of damage already studied, should give objective people CAUSE for concern.

I really don't think your a bad person , I think you want to be acknowledged
for what you have contributed and your beliefs, but thats not anything to be
blamed for. I think you miss the crux of the importance of this issue
because you refuse to understand why I post so much about it. I didn't
choose this issue more or less, this issue chose me and everything then fell
into place as making sense. Everthing about my reaction to the air and
subsequent facts about global warming and damages, seems to fall in place
naturally. Many of the subsequent links and studies (although much less then
I hoped ) points out to justification in this city of not worrying about
damaging air.too often. You have to realize the point at which I think the
air becomes damaging is pretty much the same point the epa finds air becomes
damaging.by warning about moderate air sensitivity to those prone to react
like me. If I was making this up or too sensitive, then obviously there
would be no reason to warn people. The facts do show that this sensitivity
has the potential to do more then make me asthmatic, it has the potential to
kill and harm even at much lower levels. That together with rising carbon
dioxide is a lethal stew that people should not have to absorb and
Philadelphia residents will get older faster and will be in much less better
condition more often then in other places because of thisissue if we don't
do more or if families don't move out.

Finally Karen you don't have a clue of the impact on all this or how many
people move or why, just that people have and are.and will move and they do
it alllot here and will contiue to as we lose the best and brightest ..

I'm not missing the crux of how these things are important. I probably
recognized how important they were WAY before you did. I remember when
we had the very first Earth Day. Do you?

Once again you think I don't know what the stats about this are. I don't
hang out with blue-collar people. I don't work with blue-collar people.
I hang out and work with exactly the kind of people we need to retain
because I'm one of them.

iF AND WHEN i LEAVE i WILL CONTINUE TO RAIL AGAINST THE BIGGEST CONSPIRACY
AND NEGATIVED FACING PHILADELPHIA. THE AIR POLLUTION AND SUBSEQUENT BAD
EVERYTHING ELSE. THE POVERTY, THE CRIME, THE CANCERS, THE AMOUNT SPENT ON
HEALTH CARE, THE FAILED EDUCATION, UNTIL SOMEONE DOES MORE TO SHOW ME HOW
OUR HEALTH , ESPECIALLY RESPIRATORY HEALTH IS IMPROVING OR NUMBER OF DAYS WE
GET PARTICULATE POLLUTION IS DIMINISHING, UNTIL THAT DAY i WILL PROTEST AS
MUCH AS i CAN OR IS HUMANLY POSSIBLE AND ASK ANYONE OBJECTIVE TO LISTEN TO
OBJECTIVE DATA ( LIKE ON SPERLINGS LISTS OF CITIES OR AMERICAN CANCER
SOCIETY AND LUNG ASSOCIATION)) FOR THEIR TRUTH IN RATING OUR AIR QUALITY AND
DANGERS. THE RECENT NUMBER ONE IN ASTHMA IS JUST ICING ON THE CAKE SHOULD
PEOPLE WANT OBJECTIVITY IN THIS DEBATE.

I am now strongly recommending people to leave this area, in areas such as
Scranton , Pittsburgh, places in Jersey near Philly and all in PHILLY areas.
WHY DON'T **YOU** LEAVE, Steve!
For the love of Christ, GET OUT! AND STOP THIS!
Take whatever resources you have and follow your own advise.
The fact that YOU haven't left, when you want everyone
else to leave, proves what total crackpot and liar
you are.
